If you live in an apartment or you are simply in a place where you cannot make too much noise, and you want to have a drum set to play or study, you are probably thinking about getting an electronic drum set (or e-drum).

Why do I recommend the Millennium MPS-750X?
Many students ask me about electronic drums to start, until a few months ago, I used to recommend the Millenium MPS-150X which is currently (06/18/2023) at €385, with free shipping.
The truth is that the Millenium MPS-150X is a good set to start with, with mesh heads and a real kick pedal (please never buy one with an electronic kick pedal). The Hi-Hat pedal is electronic (as in the most of the small sets) and, although the sounds are very basic, it is a good set to have at home as a study tool, you cannot ask for much more.

It seems to me one of the most remarkable things about this set, the small electronic drum sets usually come with an electronic pedal that simulates the real one.
The problem is that in the “economy” sets there are only two hi-hat positions: open and closed. On the MPS-750X, the travel is wider and more real, there are intermediates between open and closed, and the feel of the Hi-Hat sustain pedal is real. So if you’re going to play in an acoustic set afterwards there will be difference, obviously, but it will not be that much.
